Propy Crypto-Backed Real Estate Loan
Bitcoin Mortgages
Propy, a blockchain-native real estate platform and licensed title company, launched a crypto-collateralized real estate loan product in January 2025 that uses smart contracts to close tokenized property transactions in minutes rather than weeks. Loans are double-collateralized — 50% by the underlying property and 50% by Bitcoin or Ethereum pledged by the borrower — at a 10% annual interest rate with a two-year term. The structure eliminates attorney, brokerage, title, and escrow fees through on-chain automation; pledged cryptocurrency is returned in full upon repayment.
